At Haw River Christian Academy, we are committed to providing a rigorous, Christ-centered classical education that cultivates wisdom, virtue, and academic excellence. Our curriculum equips students to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage the world with a biblical worldview.
The North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship Program provides financial assistance for students to attend private schools that meet their educational needs, with tiered funding based on income. HRCA is a participating school.

Family Responsibility for Scholarship Funds
Families receiving the Opportunity Scholarship are solely responsible for ensuring they meet all NCSEAA requirements, including:
- Timely submission of required information through MyPortal
- Meeting all deadlines set by NCSEAA
- Approval of funding in MyPortal before funds can be applied to tuition
Parents are completely responsible for the application and endorsement, this is not a step schools can complete for families. Parents must ensure that all necessary steps are completed for their scholarship funds to be successfully applied toward tuition. Failure to meet NCSEAA requirements may result in a loss of funding, and families will be responsible for any remaining tuition balance.
Why Choose HRCA?
At HRCA, academic excellence is at the heart of everything we do. Our classical curriculum is designed to challenge students to reach their highest potential, cultivating intellectual curiosity, strong moral character, and a deep understanding of truth. Students engage in Socratic discussions, Latin studies, rigorous mathematics, and a literature-rich environment that prepares them for college and beyond. Our dedicated faculty fosters a culture of scholarship, leadership, and faith, ensuring that each student is prepared to impact the world for Christ.Important Considerations
- Scholarship funds must be applied towards tuition and mandatory fees.
- HRCA Scholarship Policy: Any government or non-HRCA tuition assistance will be subject to acceptance policies. No funds will be accepted if doing so requires HRCA to alter its policies or compromise its faith positions. HRCA will modify its tuition assistance acceptance policy as necessary.
