Haw River Christian Academy has an admissions policy that resembles the application process used in many other private schools and colleges. This enables the school to accurately identify and admit students from families who have clearly expressed convictions similar to the school’s philosophy and academic standards regarding the education of children.
The selection and make-up of the school’s student body is second only to staff in the impact it has upon the school’s mission. The family-like atmosphere that HRCA seeks to foster and currently enjoys is due in great measure to the similarity of biblical convictions and principles taught and lived out in the homes of our students. As the Lord blesses us with growth and change, we want to do all that we can to maintain and cultivate this culture.
A student’s academic achievements will be considered in the application process, but only for grade placement, not as the primary determining factor for acceptance. Again, we seek to enroll those students who, because of their own family’s priorities, will most benefit from what HRCA can offer to them.
When applying to HRCA, at least one parent must join as a Corporation member by completing a Corporation Membership Form. Longevity of Corporation membership is a key factor in determining priority in the registration process when there are wait list situations.
Enrollment, and therefore the parents' financial obligation, is contracted to be for the full school year.
